Financing high-quality climate projects in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet consectetur adipiscing elit dolor

We are delighted to announce our partnership with the Ministry for Climate Protection, Agriculture, Rural Areas and the Environment of the State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. The collaboration aims to channel private capital directly into local climate protection projects.

The state-backed projects include effective climate protection measures such as the rewetting of moors, the planting of hedges and sustainable forest management. All projects are developed according to the Ministry’s comprehensible and transparent quality framework and are now available on the Callirius Project Portal.

Several hundred nature reserves and plenty of unspoilt nature, including the Mecklenburg Lake District, the islands, e.g., Rügen and Usedom, make the federal state one of Germany’s leading recreational areas. Nevertheless, this region is suffering the effects of climate change, such as coastal erosion and water scarcity.

In the absence of public funding, private actors can counteract this degrading development by financing climate projects as part of their climate strategy. In doing so, they contribute to Germany’s goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2045, promote and enhance local biodiversity, take responsibility for their unavoidable greenhouse gas emissions and strengthen their brand perception and credibility.
